San Marcos Elite Concrete is a concrete contractor based in San Marcos, TX, with more than twenty years of concrete placed along the Interstate 35 corridor between Austin and San Antonio. That corridor is two building markets rather than one, and the work spans several counties and a dozen separate sets of rules.
We are a flatwork and slab company first: driveways, patios, slabs and pads, sidewalks, pool decks, retaining walls, decorative finishes, leveling, resurfacing, repair and commercial work. What we are not is a company that quotes from a photograph and prices by the square foot.
Our Approach

We price the ground before we price the concrete, because in this service area the ground is not one thing. A lot on Houston Black clay behaves nothing like a lot where limestone sits a foot below the surface, and a bid that assumes one on the other side of the county gets revised the day the excavator arrives. So the site visit is a real inspection rather than a measurement exercise.
We also read the ordinance for your city rather than the one next door. The rules here genuinely reverse: Cibolo requires welded wire fabric in driveways and sidewalks, while Lockhart prohibits it outright unless a Texas licensed engineer seals the plans. Where your lot sits over the Edwards Aquifer matters too, and it is not uniform even inside one city, so we check the lot rather than the city.
The rest is method that does not vary. Control joints are cut to the published schedule rather than by eye, at twenty four to thirty six times the slab thickness, capped at fifteen feet, with panels kept inside a one and a half to one aspect ratio. Hot weather placement is planned around the temperature of the concrete rather than the calendar. Subgrade, base, vapor retarder and steel are photographed before the pour, so what is under your slab is documented rather than remembered.
You get a copy of the delivery ticket for every load, which is required to carry the machine stamped batch time and date, the weights of cement, fly ash, sand and aggregates, and the admixture names and quantities. An incomplete ticket is grounds to reject the load, and we would rather reject it at the curb than explain a scaling surface a year later.
When repair is on the table we compare it against replacement with published numbers rather than a rule of thumb, and we separate slab jacking from slab stabilization when we quote, because raising a settled slab and filling a void under one that has not moved are different operations at different prices. Where a project would push your impervious cover past twenty percent, we say so before the pour rather than after.
What We Do
We build new concrete driveways, patios, slabs and pads, sidewalks and walkways, pool decks and retaining walls; we install stamped, polished and other decorative finishes; and we handle resurfacing, leveling, repair and commercial concrete including parking lots, dumpster pads, approach aprons, curb ramps and accessible routes. If you are weighing a project anywhere in the San Marcos area, ask us for a free estimate and we will put the mix, the reinforcing, the joint schedule and the base in writing so you can compare it against anything else you have been quoted.
